It's been several months since our last update and Baruch Hashem we continue full throttle towards completion of design and permitting!
While much of the progress over these months has been non-linear, there is also much forward progress to report. We spent a significant amount of time looking at our plans and examining certain alternative options which we explored with the goal of streamlining the project and making it more efficient and fitting for our needs. While the most significant changes we considered didn't come to fruition, we were able to make small but impactful modifications to our plans that will trim costs while making our future campus even more relevant and functional - all without diminishing from the vibrancy, aesthetic beauty, and impressive stature of the final result.
1. General Contractor Selection: Our architects have sent the project to four General Contractors for bids!!! This is an extremely exciting milestone, which initiates a process of exchanging information to help guide candidates in assessing the project. In the next several weeks these contractors will submit proposals to us, and when the Construction Documents are 100% completed, we will engage the contractor that best fits our needs from a cost/quality perspective. This is an exciting stage in the process as we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
2. Shul Construction Consultants: As we near 100% completion of our Construction Documents, we have engaged RISE Architecture, an international company, in a consultant role to team with our architects regarding the fine points of Shul design. RISE has been involved in the construction of hundreds of Shuls, and in the short time they have been working with us have already provided invaluable insight.
